Why this site displays a content warning and a persistent injury disclaimer on every page.

This notice explains the content safety measures SIMFX® uses on this website, who they are for, and the basis on which they are maintained.

1. What This Site Shows

1.1   This site contains photographs and images of simulated injuries. All wounds and injury effects are produced using professional moulage, a specialised makeup technique applied by trained SIMFX® artists. No real injuries are depicted anywhere on this site.

1.2   The content is designed for use in simulation-based training environments. Its purpose is to help healthcare professionals, emergency responders, and simulation practitioners prepare for and deliver realistic training scenarios.

1.3   Some photographs on this site were staged using surgical instruments and props for compositional purposes. These items are present for visual context only. They are not part of any SIMFX® product, kit, or technique, and must not be used in conjunction with SIMFX® moulage materials or applied to a casualty actor as part of a simulation.

2. Why We Display a Content Warning

2.1   On your first visit, this site displays a content warning asking you to confirm you are 18 or older and that you understand the site contains images of simulated injuries. The warning is stored in your browser so it does not appear again on return visits.

2.2   This measure is maintained as a professional duty of care. Realistic moulage imagery, while produced entirely in a training context, may be unexpected or distressing to visitors who arrive without prior knowledge of what the site contains. The content warning ensures that all visitors make an informed choice before proceeding.

2.3   We adopt this standard voluntarily, in line with Ofcom’s general guidance on responsible online content practice and consistent with the principles of the Online Safety Act 2023. This site is a static commercial training website and does not fall within the regulated categories of that Act, which covers user-to-user services and search services. These measures are maintained as a matter of professional responsibility, not statutory obligation.

3. Who This Site Is For

3.1   This site is intended for adults (18 and over) working in or connected to medical simulation, moulage, emergency services training, or related professional fields. The content is not suitable for children.

3.2   If you arrived here by accident or find the content distressing, please close this page.

4.1   Every page on this site carries a fixed bar at the bottom of the screen reading: ALL INJURIES SHOWN ARE SIMULATED | FOR TRAINING PURPOSES ONLY

4.2   This notice is shown at all times so that any visitor who arrives via a direct link, a search engine result, or a shared image immediately understands that the content is simulated. It cannot be dismissed or scrolled past.
